JESUS, THE PROTAGONIST OF OUR STORY

Luke 9:28-36

Suddenly they saw two men, Moses and Elijah, talking to him.(…) Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!”

Luke 9:30.35 (NRSV)

The curtain rises on the stage, and Moses and Elijah enter the scene, just as Jesus’ garments are illuminated. Suddenly, the play takes an unexpected turn! The seemingly leading characters have exited the stage! To everyone’s surprise, Jesus remains radiant throughout the act!

Moses, faithful representative of the Law and Elijah of the prophets, reaffirm his importance in the life of the Jewish people. However, the promise of the covenant of the God of Israel is reflected in the steadfastness of Jesus until the end. How joyful to be able to hear the voice of the one who invites us to take part! The voice that brightens the meeting with the teaching of love above any rule or word! Is Jesus the protagonist of our stories, of our lives? 

Today, God desires that we act alongside Jesus, allowing Him to be the protagonist of our actions.

Prayer: Come, Jesus, into our lives! Let us be able to hear your warm voice which overflows with boundless love and tenderness. In hyour holy name, Amen.

JESÚS EL PROTAGONISTA DE NUESTRA OBRA

Lucas 9:28-36

“Y he aquí dos varones que hablaban con él, los cuales eran Moisés y Elías (…) Y vino una voz desde la nube, que decía: Éste es mi Hijo amado; a él oíd”

Lucas 9, 30.35

Se abre el telón del tablado y entran en escena Moisés y Elías, cuando fueron iluminadas las vestiduras de Jesús. ¡De repente, la obra toma un giro inesperado! ¡Los personajes aparentemente protagónicos han dejado el escenario! Para sorpresa, ¡Jesús permanece resplandeciente durante el acto!

Moisés, fiel representante de la ley y Elías, de las profecías, reafirman su importancia en la vida del pueblo judío. Sin embargo, la promesa de la alianza del Dios de Israel se ve reflejada en la constancia de Jesús hasta el final. ¡Cuánto gozo es poder escuchar la voz de quien invita a participar! ¡La voz que ilumina el encuentro con la enseñanza del amor por encima de cualquier norma o palabra! ¿Es Jesús el protagonista de nuestras obras, de nuestras vidas?

Dios desea hoy que actuemos junto a Jesús, dejándole ser el protagonista de nuestros actos.

Oración: ¡Ven Jesús a nuestras vidas! Permite que podamos oír tu voz cálida que emana amor y ternura sin medidas. En tu santo nombre, Amén.
