DIVINE JUSTICE

Matthew 20: 1-16a

He responded, “You also go into the vineyard.”

In today’s Gospel we reflect on the parable of the workers in the vineyard.  Jesus reveals to us the generosity of the Kingdom of God, where the vineyard owner contracts with workers at different times of the day, but at the end of the tasks, everyone receives the same salary. 

This confronts us with our tendency to measure justice according to our own criteria.  We remember that in the Kingdom of God, grace is not based on merits but on the unconditional love of the Father.  Those who arrived at the end of the day also received their pay. 

In our lives, we often compare our blessings with those of others, forgetting that each one is called at his or her time.  Let us remember that in the Kingdom of God, we are all equally valued and beloved. 

Let us embrace this grace, let us share it with others, let us learn to be happy when others receive it and let us celebrate the kindness of God knowing that God’s Love has no limits. 

Prayer: Lord, give us the desire to always work in your vineyard, without worrying about what hour you call us, with the certainty of finding a place in your heart and an opportunity to serve others. Amen.

LA JUSTICIA DIVINA

Entonces vayan y únanse a los otros en mi viñedo

En el Evangelio de hoy reflexionamos sobre la parábola de los trabajadores en la viña. Jesús nos revela la generosidad del Reino de Dios, donde el dueño de la viña contrata a trabajadores a diferentes horas del día, pero al concluir las faenas todos reciben el mismo salario.

Esto nos confronta con nuestra tendencia a medir la justicia según nuestros propios criterios. Nos recuerda que en el Reino de Dios, la gracia no se basa en nuestros méritos, sino en el amor incondicional del Padre. Esos que llegaron al final del día también recibieron su recompensa.

En nuestras vidas, a menudo comparamos nuestras bendiciones con las de otros, olvidando que cada uno es llamado a su tiempo. Recordemos que en el Reino de Dios, todos somos igualmente valorados y amados.

Abracemos esa gracia, compartámosla con los demás, aprendamos a alegrarnos por lo que otros reciben y celebremos la bondad de Dios sabiendo que su Amor no tiene límites.

Oración: Señor, permite que siempre deseemos trabajar en tu viña, sin importar la hora en que nos llames, con la certeza de encontrar un lugar en tu corazón, y oportunidad de servir a los demás. Amén.
