LET’S ACCEPT THE INVITATION

Matthew 22: 1-14

Therefore, go to the roads on the edge of town and invite everyone you find to the wedding party.

In today’s lesson, we see how Jesus used another parable to teach about the Kingdom of God. It is the parable of the king’s great party, when he invited many people to the wedding of his son, but many rejected the invitation. Some even mistreated the messengers.  The king, full of sadness and justice, decides to open the invitation to all.

This parable reminds us that the Kingdom of heaven is a gift offered to all, without distinction. However, it also advises us about the importance of being prepared and responding adequately to the divine invitation.  Let us not forget that it is an opportunity to be taken seriously.  We have been invited to the wedding banquet, but we are not always ready to go. How many times do we prioritize our own interests and let an important chance to draw close to the Lord pass by?

Let us be receptive to the call of God in our lives, let us accept God’s invitation with ready hearts and let us clothe ourselves with good works that reflect our faith. 

Prayer: Lord, we ask you that we might never forget that all are called to your Kingdom. Let us always be ready to hear you and serve you.  Amen.

ACEPTEMOS LA INVITACION

Mateo 22: 1-14

Ahora salgan a las esquinas de las calles e inviten a todos los que vean.

Mateo 22:9 

En la lectura de hoy se muestra como Jesús utiliza otra parábola para enseñar acerca del Reino de Dios, y es la parábola de la gran fiesta del rey, que invita a muchos a la boda de su hijo, pero muchos rechazan la invitación. Algunos incluso maltratan a los mensajeros. El rey, lleno de tristeza y justicia, decide abrir la invitación a todos.

Esta parábola nos recuerda que el Reino de los cielos es un regalo ofrecido a todos, sin distinción. Sin embargo, también nos advierte sobre la importancia de estar preparados y responder adecuadamente a la invitación divina. No olvidemos que es una oportunidad a tomar en serio. Hemos sido invitados al “banquete de bodas”, pero no siempre estamos dispuestos a ir, ¿cuántas veces priorizamos nuestros intereses y dejamos pasar ese importante momento de acercarnos al Señor?

Seamos receptivos a la llamada de Dios en nuestras vidas, aceptemos su invitación con corazones dispuestos y vistámonos con las buenas obras que reflejan nuestra fe.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos que nunca olvidemos que todos somos llamados a tu Reino y permite que siempre podamos estar listos para escucharte y servir. Amén.
