LET US ACT WITH JUSTICE

Matthew  5:20-26

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20 (NIV)

Jesus points out that the justice God demands goes beyond the standards the scribes and Pharisees followed. They focused only on the law and lost sight of the spirituality behind it. The reality is that true justice involves a heart transformed by forgiveness and mercy, and a life that reflects the values of the Kingdom.

Having a life in God goes beyond keeping up appearances; it is not enough to do good works and be in conflict with your brother or sister. It is not enough to attend church and not share the gesture of peace with each brother or sister. We must truly profess the love God gives us.

It is not about taking justice into our own hands, but about trusting in God’s sovereignty and plan for our lives. Let us not be like the Pharisees; let us allow the good spirit of our Lord to guide us in every act of justice and reconciliation.

Prayer: God of Justice, we need the help of the Holy Spirit to live according to the principles of your Kingdom, so that we may be just without violating your teachings. Amen.

ACTUEMOS CON JUSTICIA

Mateo  5:20-26

Porque les digo a ustedes que, si no superan a los maestros de la ley y a los fariseos en hacer lo que es justo ante Dios, nunca entrarán en el reino de los cielos.

Jesús señala que la justicia que exige Dios va más allá de las normas que los escribas y fariseos seguían. Ellos se enfocaban solamente en la ley y perdían de vista la espiritualidad que hay detrás de ella. La realidad es que la verdadera justicia implica un corazón transformado en perdón y misericordia, y una vida que refleje los valores del Reino.

Tener una vida en Dios va más allá de mantener las apariencias, no basta con hacer buenas obras y estar en conflicto con tu hermano. No basta asistir a la iglesia y no compartir el gesto de paz con cada hermano/a. Tenemos que profesar verdaderamente el amor que Dios nos regala.

No se trata de tomar la justicia por nuestra mano, sino de confiar en la soberanía y el plan que Dios tiene para la vida de nosotros. No seamos como los Fariseos, dejemos que sea el buen espíritu de nuestro Señor el que nos guíe en cada acto de justicia y reconciliación.

Oración:   Dios de Justicia, necesitamos la ayuda del Espíritu Santo para vivir de acuerdo a los principios de tu Reino, para así ser justos sin faltar a tus enseñanzas. Amén.
