Our Actions Based on Hope

Genesis 15: 1-12

I am your shield, your very great reward.

Genesis 15: 1 (NIV)

With this passage, the Lord tells us how He is our shield, the one who protects us from all evil, sadness and despair. And at the same time he will reward us for all those services we have performed in His name. But, which are those services? How many times have we asked ourselves, what works should we do in the name of the Lord, if they will fulfill our purpose, or if they will really mean something? The most important thing for God, above all, is that we go with love and that we carry out these actions of service thinking of others. There is no better work than that which is done with understanding and hope, keeping others in mind. Let us always think of the person we are helping or want to help; let us pass our actions through a filter full of sensitivity, keeping only that which is good.

Prayer: Lord, we ask you to help us to be better people, to know how to grow in the face of adversity. Show us how to share your message of love and joy in order to fulfill our purpose as your people. Amen.

Acciones desde la esperanza.

Génesis 15. 1-12

Yo soy tu escudo y tu galardón será sobremanera grande.

Con esta frase el Señor nos dice cómo él es nuestro escudo, aquel que nos protege de todo lo malo, todas las desesperanzas, las tristezas. Y que a su vez nos recompensará por todos aquellos servicios que hemos hecho en su nombre. ¿Pero, cuáles son esos servicios? Cuantas han sido las veces que nos hemos preguntado qué obras hacemos en nombre del Señor, si estas cumplen con nuestro propósito, si de verdad significan algo. Lo más importante para Dios, ante todo es que vayamos con amor, que realicemos estas acciones de servicio pensando en el otro y la otra. No hay mejor trabajo que el que se realiza desde la comprensión, la esperanza y el tener en cuenta a la otra persona. Pensemos siempre en aquel o aquella que estamos ayudando o queremos ayudar; pasemos de esta forma nuestras acciones por un filtro lleno de sensibilidad conservando solo lo bueno.

Oración: Señor te pedimos que nos ayudes a ser mejores personas, a saber crecernos ante las adversidades. Muéstranos como compartir tu mensaje de amor y alegría, para así cumplir con nuestro propósito como tu pueblo. Amén.
