ABRAM’S FAITH

Genesis 12:1-9

The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your land, your family, and your father’s household for the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation and will bless you. I will make your name respected, and you will be a blessing…”

Genesis 12:1-2 (CEB)

When God calls him, Abram moves by faith from Ur to Haran and finally to Canaan. Then God made a covenant with Abram and told him that he would be the founder of a great nation. Not only will this great nation be blessed, said God, but also all of the other nations of the world will be blessed through Abram’s descendants. Israel, the nation that would come out of Abram, should be a people who follow God and influence the people with whom they have contact. From the descendants of Abram Jesus was born. Through Christ, all people can have a personal relationship with God and be tremendously blessed.

Abram obeyed, leaving his home for God’s promise of even greater blessings in the future. Maybe God is trying to guide you to a place where you can be more useful and serve God better. Don’t let the comfort and security of your current position, your comfort zone, get in the way of the plan God has for you.

Prayer: Loving Father, keep adding to our faith as you did with Abram so we will fully trust in your promises. Amen.

LA FE DE ABRAM

Génesis 12:1-9

Un día el Señor le dijo a Abram: "Deja tu tierra, tus parientes y la casa de tu padre, para ir a la tierra que yo te voy a mostrar. Con tus descendientes voy a formar una gran nación; voy a bendecirte y hacerte famoso, y serás una bendición para otros.

Génesis 12:1-2.

Cuando Dios lo llamó, Abram se trasladó por fe de Ur a Harán y finalmente a Canaán. Entonces, Dios estableció un pacto con Abram, y le dijo que sería el fundador de una gran nación. No sólo esta gran nación sería bendecida, dijo Dios, sino también las demás naciones del mundo serían bendecidas a través de los descendientes de Abram. Israel, la nación que saldría de Abram, debía ser un pueblo que siguiera a Dios e influenciara a los pueblos con los que tuviera contacto. De la descendencia de Abram nació Jesucristo. Por medio de Cristo, todas las personas pueden tener una relación personal con Dios y ser bendecidas tremendamente.

Abram obedeció, dejando su casa por la promesa de Dios de bendiciones mucho más grandes en el futuro. Quizá Dios está tratando de guiarlo a un lugar donde usted pueda serle más útil y servirle mejor. No deje que la comodidad y la seguridad de su posición actual , la zona de confort le hagan perder el plan que Dios tiene para usted.

Oración: Padre amado, continúa aumentando nuestra fe, así como lo hiciste con Abram para confiar plenamente en tus promesas. Amén.
