Anniversary of the Mission Church “Ebenezer” (Encrucijada)

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS A HIDDEN TREASURE IN OUR MIDST

Luke 17:20 - 25

Nor will people say, “Here it is,” or “There it is,” because the kingdom of God is in your midst.

Luke 17:21b (NIV)

We often expect the Kingdom of God to be something spectacular, something manifested through grand signs and outward wonders. We want fireworks, trumpets, and drums! But Jesus teaches us that it isn’t like that, amd that the Kingdom of God isn’t a place we go to after we die, nor a distant future event, much less a spectacle. The Kingdom of God is here and now! It is present in the heart of every person who opens themselve to God’s grace, in every act of love and compassion, in every moment of forgiveness and reconciliation. It is an inner reality, a transformation of being that manifests itself in the way we live and relate to others. It is not sought with the eyes, but with the heart. It is not found in grand temples, but in humility and simplicity. We are invited to stop looking for the divine in external things and begin to look for it within ourselves; to cultivate peace, justice, and joy in our hearts, because that is where the Kingdom of God resides. It is a hidden treasure within us that we must discover!

Prayer: Dear God, help us to look into our hearts; teach us to feel your presence in the small things, and open our eyes to see your Kingdom in our daily lives, in the people around us, and in the beauty of creation. Amen.

Aniversario de la Iglesia dependiente “Ebenezer” (Encrucijada)

El Reino de Dios es un tesoro escondido en nuestro interior

Lucas 17: 20 - 25

(…) ¡Aquí está! o ¡Allí está! Porque el Reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes.

Lucas 17: 21b

A menudo, esperamos que el Reino de Dios sea algo espectacular, algo que se manifieste con grandes señales y prodigios externos. ¡Queremos fuegos artificiales, trompetas y redoblantes! Pero Jesús nos enseña que no es así, que el Reino de Dios no es un lugar al que vamos después de morir, ni un evento futuro lejano y mucho menos un espectáculo. El Reino de Dios ¡Está aquí y ahora! Está presente en el corazón de cada persona que se abre a la gracia de Dios, en cada acto de amor y compasión, en cada momento de perdón y reconciliación. Es una realidad interior, una transformación del ser que se manifiesta en la forma en que vivimos y nos relacionamos con los demás. No se busca con la vista, sino con el corazón. No se encuentra en templos grandiosos, sino en la humildad y la sencillez. Estamos invitados a dejar de buscar lo divino en lo externo y empezar a buscarlo en nuestro interior; a cultivar la paz, la justicia y la alegría en nuestro corazón, porque ahí es donde reside el Reino de Dios. ¡Es un tesoro escondido en nuestro interior que debemos descubrir!

Oración: Querido Dios ayúdanos a mirar dentro de nuestros corazones, enséñanos a sentir tú presencia en las pequeñas cosas y abre nuestros ojos para ver tu Reino en nuestra vida cotidiana, en las personas que nos rodean y en la belleza de la creación. Amén
