Psalm 33: 2-3, 16-17, 18-19

 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Psalm 33:3 (NIV)

In worship services, there is a key moment: the praise of the Lord. At that moment, we connect with God; our bond is strengthened through art, music, painting, drama, literature, and sewing. And God invites us to create, to dream, to offer our being to his service with joy.

I remember the refrain of a song I carry with me to every service:

“Bless the Lord, my soul,/praise your holy name,/sing like never before, O my soul,/I will praise your name.”

May the greatness and power of the God of all, our God, motivate us to create great things, to put our hearts into what we love to do, so that we may reflect his splendor and power through art! May this be our invitation!

Prayer: Father and Mother, Creator of the Universe, thank you for another day in which we enjoy the beauty of life. Grant us the wisdom to praise you as you deserve. Be our guide and companion. Amen.

ALABANZAS

Salmo 33: 2-3, 16-17, 18-19

Cántenle una canción nueva; toquen con destreza y den voces de alegría.

En los cultos de adoración hay un momento clave que es el de alabanza al Señor. En ese momento conectamos con Dios, nuestro vínculo se refuerza a través del arte, la música, la pintura, la dramatización, la literatura, la costura. Y Dios nos invita a crear, a soñar, a poner nuestro ser a su servicio llenos de alegría.

Recuerdo el estribillo de una canción que llevo conmigo en cada culto:

“Bendecid al Señor, alma mía, / tu nombre Santo alabar, / canta como nunca, oh, mi alma, / tu nombre alabaré”

¡Que la grandeza y el poder del Dios de todos y todas, de nuestro Dios, nos motive a crear grandes cosas, a poner el corazón en lo que nos gusta hacer, que podamos reflejar a través del arte su esplendor, su poder! ¡Que esta sea nuestra invitación!

Oración: Padre y madre, creador del Universo, gracias por otro día en el que disfrutamos de la belleza de la vida. Danos la sabiduría para alabarte como mereces. Sé nuestra guía y compañía. Amén.
