HELPING OUT

Romans 15:14-21

I myself feel confident about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.

The certainty of knowing himself to be an instrument of the Holy Spirit, the experience of the transformation he himself had undergone, and his trust in God's work must have been truths that led Paul to treat each person who committed themselves to the mission with trust and respect, calling them “beloved brothers and sisters,” even though he did not know most of them. He understood that he had the great responsibility of spreading the Good News, but that he could not do it successfully alone.

The purpose of the Kingdom is collaborative, enriched by the knowledge and approaches of those who continue to support it. Learning to see ourselves as “collaborators,” accepting that we all have much to contribute, and that the Spirit empowers us in just the right measure, will always invite us to treat each other with kindness and trust, to seek the best in each person, and to be compassionate toward those who have not managed to do so as “we would like.”

Prayer: Beloved Jesus, you know me so well, and eve so you trust me with the creation of your Reign. I want to collaborate with you, trusting the people you have chosen and treating them with sincere love and kindness. Amen.

COLABORARLE

Romanos 15: 14-21

Mis amados hermanos, estoy plenamente convencido de que ustedes están llenos de bondad. Conocen estas cosas tan bien que pueden enseñárselas unos a otros.

Romanos 15: 14.

La certeza de saberse un instrumento del Espíritu Santo, la experiencia de la transformación que él mismo había vivido y la confianza en la obra divina, debieron ser verdades que llevaron a Pablo a tratar a cada persona que se comprometía con la misión, con confianza y respeto; a tratarles de “amados hermanos”, aún y cuando no conocía a una gran parte de ellos. Él había entendido que tenía la gran responsabilidad de llevar la Buena Noticia, pero que solo no podría cumplirla exitosamente.

El proyecto del Reino es colaborativo, se enriquece con los saberes y las maneras de hacer de quienes siguen apostando por él. Aprender a mirarnos como “colaboradores”, aceptar que todas las personas tenemos mucho que aportar, y que el Espíritu nos capacita en la medida justa, nos va a invitar siempre a tratarnos con amabilidad y confianza, a buscar lo mejor da cada uno y a ser compasivos con quienes no han logrado hacerlo como “nos gustaría”.

Oración: Jesús amado, tú me conoces tan bien y aun así me confías construcción de tu reino. Quiero colaborarte, confiando en las personas que has escogido y tratándolas con amor y amabilidad sinceros. Amén.
