A PROFOUND EXPRESSION OF LOVE

Luke 19: 41-44

As Jesus came to the city and observed it, he wept over it.

In Luke 19:41-44, we find Jesus crying for Jerusalem in a deep expression of his love and compassion for the city and its people. This passage reveals the heart of Christ, and despite the proximity of the fulfillment of his redemptive mission, he could not avoid feeling sadness at their lack of recognition and the imminent destruction that awaited them due to their rejection.

Jesus laments that Jerusalem has not been wise enough to take advantage of the time of his visit, the time of grace that he offered them. This warning resounds in us today, inviting us to reflect on how we respond to the opportunities that God offers to us. Are we open to God’s message?  Do we recognize the times when God calls us to reconciliation and repentance? 

The prophecy of the destruction of the city also reminds us that our decisions have consequences. Ignoring the call of God can cause us to lose that which is really important. In a world full of distractions and noises, this passage challenges us to be conscious of the presence of God in our lives and to act with wisdom and faith, always seeking God’s will and embracing God’s love.

UNA EXPRESIÓN PROFUNDA DE AMOR

Lucas 19: 41-44

Ya cerca de la ciudad, Jesús lloró al verla.

En Lucas 19:41-44, encontramos a Jesús llorando por Jerusalén, una expresión profunda de su amor y compasión por la ciudad y su gente. Este pasaje revela el corazón de Cristo, quien, a pesar de su cercanía al cumplimiento de su misión redentora, no puede evitar sentir tristeza por la falta de reconocimiento y la inminente destrucción que les espera debido a su rechazo.

Jesús lamenta que Jerusalén no haya sabido aprovechar el tiempo de su visita, el tiempo de gracia que se les ofrecía. Esta advertencia resuena en nosotros hoy, invitándonos a reflexionar sobre cómo respondemos a las oportunidades que Dios nos brinda. ¿Estamos abiertos a su mensaje? ¿Reconocemos los momentos en que Él nos llama a la reconciliación y al arrepentimiento?

La profecía de la destrucción de la ciudad también nos recuerda que nuestras decisiones tienen consecuencias. Ignorar el llamado de Dios puede llevarnos a perder lo que realmente importa. En un mundo lleno de distracciones y ruidos, este pasaje nos desafía a ser conscientes de la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas y a actuar con sabiduría y fe, buscando siempre su voluntad y abrazando su amor.
