Believe, in Order to Resurrect

John 6: 37-40

This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.

John 6:40 (NRSV)

We see the resurrection as a unique act at the end of time; however, faith in Jesus is the certainty of a constant resurrection, that which draws us closer and closer to the God of hope. Jesus is the friend with outstretched hands, who persuades us by his example to follow the path that leads to the Father. It is not a path that ends, it is a constant walk toward the good. By will, God loves, pardons, welcomes, strengthens, protects, and Jesus is the constant reminder of God’s devotion to humanity.

The opportunity to constantly resurrect oneself is there; the willingness to do so depends on each person who discovers, in the midst of this chaotic world, that there are different ways of being, of sharing, of relating, of existing.

So faith in Jesus is the confirmation that we have someone who guides and sustains us, accompanies and protects us, enlightens and embraces us. With this guarantee, we still have to decide each day for life, decide each day for what is good, decide each day to resuscitate a full existence as Jesus promises us.

Prayer: God, allow me to find new paths every day that fill me with you. Amen.

Creer, para resucitar

Juan 6, 37-40

Porque la voluntad de mi Padre es que todo el que ve al Hijo y crea en él tenga vida eterna, y yo lo resucitaré en el día final.

Mateo 6, 40

Vemos la resurrección, como un acto único al final de los tiempos, sin embargo, la fe en Jesús, es la certeza de una resurrección constante, esa que nos acerca más y más al Dios de la esperanza. Jesús es el amigo de manos extendidas, que nos persuade con su ejemplo a seguir el camino que lleva al Padre, no es un camino que acaba, es un andar constante hacia el bien. Dios por voluntad, ama, perdona, acoge, restaura, fortalece, ampara y Jesús es el recordatorio constante de esa entrega de Dios hacia la humanidad.

La oportunidad de resucitar constantemente está, la voluntad de hacerlo depende de cada persona que descubre, en medio de este mundo caótico, que hay maneras diferentes de ser, de compartir, de relacionarse, de existir.

Así que la fe en Jesús, es la confirmación de que tenemos quien nos guía y sostiene, acompaña y protege, ilumina y abraza. Con esa garantía, nos queda decidir cada día por la vida, decidir cada día por lo bueno, decidir cada día resucitar a una existencia plena, como nos promete Jesús.

Oración: Dios permite que cada día encuentre nuevos caminos que me llenen de ti. Amén
