GRATITUDE

Luke 17: 11-19

Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?

Luke 17:18 (NIV)

When we feel the rope tightening too much, that’s when we remember God. We forget to thank him at all times. We turn to his care and refuge only when we’re at our limit. Isn’t it right to cultivate gratitude and love for the one who created us? Isn’t it satisfying to give thanks when we achieve that dream we had in mind?

In this passage, Jesus teaches us the importance of giving thanks when we are healed. Only one of the nine lepers he had cured returned, grateful for the miracle; the rest went on their way. That Samaritan’s faith saved him. Grace and faith save us!

Prayer: Beloved Father, thank you for each sunrise, for the birdsong. Thank you for giving me the strength to take my son to school, to care for my mother, who, although elderly, is still with me. Thank you for another day in which I give and receive smiles. Watch over us. Amen.

GRATITUD

Lucas 17: 11-19

¿No ha habido nadie, fuera de este extranjero, que volviera para dar gloria a Dios?

Lucas 17:18

Cuando sentimos que la soga aprieta demasiado, es cuando nos acordamos de Dios, olvidamos dar gracias a Él en todo momento. Recurrimos a su cuidado y refugio ya cuando estamos al límite. ¿Acaso no es justo fomentar la gratitud y el amor hacia quien nos ha creado? ¿Acaso no es satisfactorio agradecer cuando logramos cumplir ese sueño que teníamos en mente?

En este pasaje Jesús nos enseña la importancia de dar gracias cuando sanamos, solo uno de los nueve enfermos con lepra que había curado regresó agradecido por el milagro, el resto siguió su camino. La fe de ese samaritano lo salvó. ¡La gracia y la fe nos salvan!

Oración:  Amado Padre, gracias por cada amanecer, por el canto de las aves, gracias por darme fuerzas para llevar a mi hijo a la escuela, para cuidar de mi mamá, que, aunque mayor, aun la tengo conmigo. Gracias por otro día en el que regalo y me regalan sonrisas. Cuida de nosotros. Amén.
