YOU ARE A SECURE REFUGE AND SOURCE OF STRENGTH

Psalm 18:2 – 5

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 18:2a (NIV)

The psalmist presents God to us as our rock, a symbol of stability, strength, and protection. In times of difficulty, when we feel vulnerable and threatened, we can find refuge in him. Imagine a solid, immovable rock that withstands the force of the waves and the onslaught of the wind. That is what God is like for us! He not only protects us, but he is also our liberator. He rescues us from our enemies, frees us from fear, and gives us the strength to overcome obstacles. He is a protective shield that defends us from evil and the power that saves us, giving us victory over adversity.

The text reminds us that we are not alone in our daily struggles and difficulties. God is with us, always ready to be our safe haven and a source of strength for everyone. We trust in him completely because he is faithful and powerful to save us. It is like having an unconditional friend who is always there for us!

Prayer: Beloved God, today we come to you with hearts full of gratitude. Thank you for being my safe haven, my unwavering strength in the midst of life’s storms. Help us to trust in you at all times, to feel your constant presence in our lives so that we may face any challenge with courage and hope. Amen.

Eres refugio seguro y fuente de fortaleza

Salmo 18: 2 – 5

Tú eres para mí la roca que me da refugio: ¡tú me cuidas y me libras!

Salmo 18:  2a

El salmista nos presenta a Dios como nuestra roca, como símbolo de estabilidad, fortaleza y protección. En tiempos de dificultad, cuando nos sentimos vulnerables y amenazados, podemos encontrar refugio en Él. Imagina una roca sólida, inamovible, que resiste la fuerza de las olas y el embate del viento. ¡Así es Dios para nosotros/as! No solo nos protege, también es nuestro libertador. Él nos rescata de nuestros enemigos, nos libra de los miedos y nos da la fuerza para superar los obstáculos. Es escudo protector, que nos defiende del mal y el poder que nos salva, nos da la victoria sobre la adversidad.

El texto nos recuerda que no estamos solos en luchas y dificultades cotidianas. Dios está con nosotros, siempre dispuesto a ser nuestro refugio seguro y fuente de fortaleza para todos/as. Confiamos en Él plenamente, porque Él es fiel y poderoso para salvarnos. ¡Es como tener un amigo incondicional que siempre está ahí para nosotros!

Oración: Amado Dios, hoy venimos a ti con el corazón lleno de gratitud. Gracias por ser mi refugio seguro, mi fortaleza inquebrantable en medio de las tormentas de la vida. Ayúdanos a confiar en ti en todo momento, a sentir tu presencia constante en nuestras vidas para que podamos enfrentar cualquier desafío con valentía y esperanza. Amén
