Let us do it in his name.

Luke 7: 36-50

“This is why I tell you that her many sins have been forgiven; so she has shown great love”.

Luke 7:47a (CEB)

We all have asked forgiveness at some point in our lives; all of us have at some time made a mistake because we are human. In this verse Jesus grants forgiveness to this woman for all of her sins. He does the same with us, grants us his forgiveness; forgiveness that heals us and comforts us in the face of these mistakes made. But God also invites us to be redeemed, to recognize how many times we have made a mistake, even when we have not been able to learn from our errors. How many times we have not wanted to ask for forgiveness out of shame or pride? Even more, how many have been the times in which we have not been able to forgive, times when we have kept that resentment and that hate within us? Let us not leave today with these feelings that eat away at us; let’s let them go. To forgive is not always to forget, but it is to drop something that does not belong to us, a weight that was never ours.

Prayer: Beloved God, help us to let go of all the negative that impedes progress. In your name we ask forgiveness for our sins, you know which are our true feelings and you know of our repentances. Amen.

Hagámoslo en su nombre.

Lucas 7, 36-50

“Por lo cual te digo que sus muchos pecados le son perdonados, porque amó mucho”.

Lucas 7.47a

Todos hemos pedido perdón en algún momento de nuestras vidas, todos en algún momento nos hemos equivocados ya que somos humanos. En este versículo Jesús le otorga el perdón a esta mujer por todos sus pecados, él hace lo mismo con nosotros y nosotras, nos otorga su perdón; perdón que nos sana y nos consuela ante estos errores cometidos. Pero Dios también nos invita a redimirnos, a darnos cuenta cuántas veces nos hemos equivocado, y aun así no hemos podido aprender de nuestros errores; cuántas veces no hemos querido pedir perdón por vergüenza o por orgullo. Además, cuántas han sido las veces en las que no hemos podido perdonar, veces que hemos guardado ese rencor y ese odio dentro nuestro. No dejemos hoy que esos sentimientos nos carcoman, dejémoslos ir. No siempre perdonar es olvidar, pero es soltar algo que no nos corresponde a nosotros, un peso que nunca fue nuestro.

Oración: Amado Dios ayúdanos a dejar ir todo lo negativo que nos impide avanzar, en tu nombre pedimos perdón por nuestras faltas, tú sabes cuales son nuestros verdaderos sentimientos y conoces de nuestros arrepentimientos. Amén.
