The light can not be hidden.

Luke 8:16-18

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand so that those who enter can see the light.”

Luke 8:16 (CEB)

Jesus presents us with a deep and challenging truth. This image invites us to reflect on the light that we have received through the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Light represents the truth and the knowledge of God that illuminates our path. It is not something to disguise or to keep only for ourselves, but to manifest, share and reflect. Our faith and our testimony will be evident–we can not live a Christian life in secret or half-way.

Faith manifests itself in action, in a transformed life and in sharing the gospel of good news, of love. May this word push us to look at how we are living our faith: Are we letting the light of Christ shine in our lives or are we disguising it?

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the light of Your Word which illuminates our path. May our lives reflect Your truth and that, when listening to your voice, we might respond with obedience and love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

La luz no se esconde.

Lucas 8:16-18

Nadie que enciende una luz la cubre con una vasija, ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero para que los que entran vean la luz.

Lucas 8.16

Jesús nos presenta una verdad profunda y desafiante (v.16). Esta imagen nos invita a reflexionar sobre la luz que hemos recibido a través de la Palabra de Dios y la obra del Espíritu Santo en nuestras vidas.

La luz representa la verdad y el conocimiento de Dios que ilumina nuestro caminar. No es algo para ocultar o guardar solo para nosotros, sino para manifestar, compartir y reflejar. Nuestra fe y nuestro testimonio serán evidentes, y no podemos vivir una vida cristiana en secreto o a medias.

La fe se manifiesta en acción, en vida transformada y en compartir el evangelio de buena noticia, de amor. Que esta palabra nos impulse a mirarnos cómo estamos viviendo nuestra fe: ¿Estamos dejando que la luz de Cristo brille en nuestras vidas o la estamos ocultando?

Oración: Señor, gracias por la luz de Tu Palabra que ilumina nuestro camino. Que nuestra vida refleje Tu verdad y que, al escuchar tu voz, respondamos con obediencia y amor. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
