CARRY OUR CROSS

Matthew 10:34 -11:1

Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Matthew 10.38  (NIV)

Let us never think that following Jesus is easy; rather, it is a long journey full of challenges for which we are not always prepared. This passage offers us a perspective on what it means to carry our cross as an act that demonstrates dedication, sacrifice, love, and commitment, as well as a deeper connection with the Master and with our faith, which sometimes wavers.

For us today, carrying the cross should not only be a symbol of suffering and trials we must face, it should also be a renunciation of that life far removed from God’s path and will. The cross is also relationship and communion. For this, the best thing about carrying our cross is that we can carry it on our shoulders, but also in the company of others who also carry theirs. Sharing our burdens and supporting one another does not mean that the cross is less heavy, but rather that it becomes lighter, becoming a symbol of hope and redemption.

Prayer: Give us strength, Lord, to carry our crosses as we seek your peace and hope. Amen.

CARGAR NUESTRA CRUZ

Mateo 10:34 -11:1

“Y si no cargan su cruz y me siguen, entonces no merecen ser míos”

Mt 10.38 

Jamás pensemos que seguir a Jesús es fácil, más bien es un camino largo lleno de desafíos para los cuales no siempre estamos preparados. En este pasaje se nos ofrece una perspectiva sobre lo que es cargar nuestra cruz como un acto que muestra la entrega, el sacrificio, el amor y compromiso; además de una conexión más profunda con el Maestro y con nuestra fe que en ocasiones flaquea.

Cargar la cruz para nosotros hoy no debe ser solo un símbolo de sufrimiento y de pruebas a las cuales debemos enfrentarnos, también debe ser una renuncia a esa vida alejada del camino de Dios y de su voluntad. La cruz también es relación, comunión. Para este tiempo lo mejor de cargar nuestra cruz es que podemos llevarla sobre nuestros hombros, más también en compañía de otras y otros que también cargan las suyas. Compartir nuestras cargas y apoyándonos mutuamente no significa que la cruz no pesa, sino que se hace más ligera, transformándose en un símbolo de esperanza y redención.

Oración: Danos fuerzas Señor para cargar nuestras cruces mientras buscamos de tu paz y de tu esperanza. Amén.
