THE RESPONSIBILITY OF LISTENING

Matthew 11: 20-24

Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.

This text presents us with a bleak scenario: Jesus doesn’t criticize them for not believing, but for not transforming their thinking after having irrefutable proof. They witnessed healings, deliverances, and life-changing teachings, yet they remained indifferent. It’s as if, having the medicine in their hands, they refused to take it and became totally blind. Now the question is, why?

For those who have had the privilege of knowing God and have decided to reject him, it’s like picking up burdens from the ground, from the streets, and placing them on their heads and shoulders. It’s not enough to witness miracles; it’s necessary to believe, to be aware of the transformation that occurs and to allow them to change us from within and transform our daily actions.

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for the revelation of your word and for the examples you give us through your Son. We ask you to open our hearts and minds to recognize your power and your presence in our daily lives. Help us not to be indifferent to your love and to respond with faith. Amen.

LA RESPONSABILIDAD DE ESCUCHAR

Mateo 11: 20-24

“Luego, Jesús comenzó a reprender a los pueblos donde había hecho la mayoría de sus milagros, porque no cambiaban su vida ni se apartaban del pecado”

Mt 11.20

Este texto nos presenta un escenario desolador: Jesús no les critica por no creer, sino por no transformar su pensamiento después tener pruebas irrefutables. Presenciaron sanidades, liberaciones y enseñanzas transformadoras, sin embargo permanecieron indiferentes. Es como si teniendo la medicina en la mano, se negaran a tomarla, se volvieron totalmente ciegos. Ahora la pregunta es ¿por qué?

Aquellos que han tenido el privilegio de conocer a Dios y han decidido rechazarlo, es como recoger las cargas del suelo, de las calles y colocarlas en su cabeza y espaldas. No basta con presenciar los milagros, es necesario creer, ser consciente de la transformación que ocurre y permitir que nos cambien por dentro y transformen nuestras actuaciones diarias.

Oración: Amado Señor, te agradecemos por la revelación de tu Palabra y por los ejemplos que nos das a través de tu Hijo. Te pedimos que abras nuestros corazones y mentes para reconocer tu poder y tu presencia en nuestra vida cotidiana, ayúdanos a no ser indiferentes ante tu amor y a responder con fe. Amén
