LET US PREPARE OUR GROUND

Matthew 13: 1-9

“Other seed fell on good soil and bore fruit…”

To make life overflow from the earth requires the gift of patience and an immense vocation to care for the earth. While we were students, we used to work in the country during vacation from school. I preferred the tasks like planting or harvesting over preparing the furrows for the seeds.

Jesus, with this parable, teaches us that God sows God’s Word in our life and counts on our willingness to “prepare the ground.” Sowing is not tossing seeds in an action without feeling. We have the sensitivity to prepare our ground, remove the stones that obstruct the harvest, give it sufficient water so it can root and grow in any circumstance. Let us treasure the seed of God’s Word in our hearts, like fertile earth that produces good fruits for God’s glory.

Prayer: Thank you, God of life, for your call to be part of the harvest of your kingdom. Give us the gift to prepare each furrow in the person who receives the seed of your good news. Amen.

PREPAREMOS NUESTROS TERRENOS

Mateo 13: 1-9

“Pero parte cayó en buena tierra, y dio fruto .”

Hacer que la vida brote de la tierra, requiere de entrega, paciencia y una inmensa vocación al cuidado. En nuestra etapa estudiantil durante las vacaciones solíamos trabajar en el campo. Yo prefería labores como plantar o recoger, antes que preparar surcos.Jesús, con esta parábola, nos enseña que Dios siembra su Palabra en nuestra vida y cuenta con nuestra disposición para "preparar el terreno". Sembrar no es lanzar semillas en un activismo vacío de sentido. Tengamos la sensibilidad de preparar nuestros terrenos, sacar las piedras que obstaculizan la cosecha, regarlo con agua suficiente para enraizarnos y crecer bajo cualquier circunstancia. Atesoremos la semilla de su Palabra en nuestro corazón, como tierra fértil que produce buenos frutos para su gloria.

Oración: Gracias Dios de vida, por tu llamado a ser parte de la cosecha de tu reino. Danos la entrega para preparar cada surco en el que tú pones la semilla de tu evangelio. Amén.
