TRUSTING IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM

Matthew 8, 23-27

And they went and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

Matthew 8. 25 (NRSV)

In our daily lives we encounter difficult times which can overwhelm us like a storm at sea. The disciples were in the middle of a storm and being afraid, thought that everything was out of control. Even more, Jesus was asleep in the boat, trusting in the Father and showing that even in the midst of chaos there is peace when we trust in God.

When they woke Jesus, his reaction was to ask them why they had so little faith. That reminds us that  our faith is strengthened by trusting completely in Jesus, even in adverse circumstances. Jesus’ authority over nature teaches us that no matter how strong the storm, we can trust God.

In turbulent times, remember that Jesus is with you. Instead of allowing yourself to be dominated by fear, draw near to God with confidence, search for his presence and allow his peace to fill your heart; his power is greater than any problem or difficulty,

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your control over everything. In the midst of my tempests, I trust in your power and your infinite love. Amen.

CONFIAR EN MEDIO DE LA TORMENTA

Mateo 8, 23-27

“Y sus discípulos, acercándose, le despertaron diciendo: Señor, sálvanos, que perecemos”

Mt 8. 25

En nuestra vida diaria enfrentamos momentos de dificultades que pueden abrumarnos como una tormenta en el mar. Los discípulos estaban en medio de una tempestad y sintieron miedo, creían que todo estaba fuera de control. Más Jesús dormía en la barca, confiando en el Padre y mostrando que incluso en medio del caos hay paz cuando confiamos en Él.

Cuando despertaron a Jesús, su reacción fue preguntarles por qué tenían poca fe. Esto nos recuerda que nuestra fe se fortalece al confiar plenamente en Jesús incluso cuando las circunstancias son adversas. La autoridad de Jesús sobre la naturaleza nos enseña que sin importar cuán fuerte sea la tormenta, podemos confiar en Él.

En los momentos turbulentos, recuerda que Jesús está contigo. En lugar de dejarte dominar por el miedo, acércate a Él con confianza, busca su presencia y permite que su paz llene tu corazón; su poder es mayor que cualquier problema o dificultad.

Oración: Jesús, gracias porque tú tienes control sobre todas las cosas. En medio de mis tempestades confío en tu poder y tu amor infinito. Amén.
