DO OUR DUTY

Matthew 10,7-15

As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.

Doing what we must does not depend on circumstances, nor on those around us. It depends on the individual and their consistency in relation to what they identify as their life project, what they feel is their vocation, or how they bear witness to God’s call through Christian faith. In this sense, Scripture is explicit. Those sent by Jesus, rather than judging who was or was not worthy of receiving the good news, their mission was to announce the nearness of the Kingdom of Heaven wherever they went through the practice of compassionate love that serves, restores, and liberates.

Today, in the face of our challenges, it is also our duty to bear witness to Jesus’ mission, to do what we must: proclaim his gospel wherever we are through our actions without expecting anything in return or worrying about the results.

Prayer: Jesus, allow us to respond to your call. Do not allow everyday situations to discourage our will to proclaim the Kingdom of God to those around us. Amen

HACER LO QUE DEBEMOS

Mateo 10,7-15

“Dondequiera que vayan, prediquen este mensaje: “El reino de los cielos está cerca”

Hacer lo que debemos no depende de las circunstancias, tampoco de quienes están alrededor, depende de la propia persona y de su coherencia en relación con aquello que identifica como su proyecto de vida, siente como su vocación, o desde la fe cristiana testimonia ante el llamado que Dios le hace. Desde este sentido, la Escritura es explícita. Aquellos y aquellas enviadas por Jesús, más que juzgar quiénes eran o no merecedores de recibir la buena nueva, más que decidir la pertinencia del anuncio del evangelio en determinados lugares; su misión consistía en anunciar la cercanía del Reino de los cielos a donde quieran que fuesen, mediante la práctica del amor compasivo que sirve, restaura y libera.

Hoy ante los desafíos que enfrentamos, también nos corresponde ser testimonio de coherencia ante el envío de Jesús, hacer lo que debemos: anunciar allí en donde estemos, su evangelio mediante nuestras acciones sin esperar nada a cambio, ni preocuparnos por los resultados. 

Oración: Jesús permítenos responder a tu envío. No permitas que las situaciones cotidianas amilanen nuestra voluntad de anunciar el Reino de Dios entre quienes nos rodean. Amén
