PEACE IN PRAYER

Luke 11: 1-13

“Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

Luke 11:1 (NIV)

When the disciples doubted, Jesus, taught them the model prayer. A guide to follow when faced with the fear of not knowing how to approach God, has always been of great help, from those first disciples, even unto our times, where we often find people of any age with the same concerns.

I am so grateful to Jesus for this teaching! Very often I went to God in supplication seeking his help for every need. On more than one occasion I ended up tormented, remembering the pain of those around me, frustrated because I wanted to help without knowing how, guilty because I forgot some motive. Then I began to ask: “Father, teach me how to pray.”

The answer came quickly: what the Master had taught his disciples was also for me. Freeing me from the anguish of not being able to control everything and accepting my forgetfulness helped me to accept and trust more in Divine Will and to align my requests to it.

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven … Amen.

PAZ EN LA ORACIÓN

Lucas 11: 1-13

“Señor, enséñanos a orar, como también Juan enseñó a sus discípulos”

Lc 11.1

Ante la duda de los discípulos, Jesús, les enseña la oración modelo. Una guía a seguir ante el temor de no saber cómo llegar a Dios, ha sido siempre de gran ayuda, desde aquellos primeros discípulos, hasta nuestros tiempos, donde con frecuencia encontramos a personas de cualquier edad con las mismas inquietudes.

¡Agradezco tanto a Jesús por esta enseñanza! Con mucha frecuencia acudía a Dios en súplica buscando su ayuda para cada una de las necesidades. Durante más de una ocasión terminé atormentada, recordando el dolor de quienes me rodeaban, frustrada por querer ayudar sin saber cómo, culpable porque olvidaba algún motivo. Entonces comencé a pedir: “Padre, enséñame a orar”.

La respuesta no tardó: lo que el Maestro había enseñado a sus discípulos era también para mí. Liberarme  dela angustia por no poder controlarlo todo y aceptar mis olvidos me  ayudó a aceptar y confiar más  en la Voluntad Divina y alinear mis peticiones a ella.
