Return to God with all your heart

Baruch 1:15-22

We did not listen to the voice of the Lord our God in all the words of the prophets whom he sent to us

Baruch 1:21(NRSV)

In this passage we see a moment of sincere repentance on the part of the people of Israel. They recognize that their alienation from God has brought disgrace and suffering. The confession is clear and humble: they recognize their sin and cry out for mercy. This action of returning to God with all of the heart is fundamental for restoring a relationship with God.

Sometimes in our lives we also stray from the correct path, whether out of pride, distraction, or disobedience. But the good news is that God is always ready to receive us when we return sincerely. It makes no difference how far we have strayed; God’s love and mercy are greater than our mistakes.

This passage invites us to examine our hearts and to recognize our failures. True conversion means a profound change, a turning of ourselves completely toward God in repentance and faith. When we do that, we find pardon, restoration, and peace.

Prayer: God, we thank you that you are always willing to welcome us when we return to you with humility and repentance. Help us to recognize our failures and to seek you with all of our hearts. Renew our souls and strengthen our faith to follow your paths. Thank you for your infinite mercy and unconditional love. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Volver a Dios con todo el corazón

Baruc 1,15-22

¡Oh Señor, nuestro Dios, tú nos has hecho volver a ti y hemos pecado contra ti!

Baruc 1:21

En este pasaje, vemos un momento de arrepentimiento sincero por parte del pueblo de Israel. Reconocen que su alejamiento de Dios los ha llevado a la desgracia y al sufrimiento. La confesión es clara y humilde: reconocen su pecado y claman por misericordia. Este acto de volver a Dios con todo el corazón es fundamental para restaurar la relación con Él.

A veces en nuestra vida también nos alejamos del camino correcto, ya sea por orgullo, distracción o desobediencia. Pero la buena noticia es que Dios siempre está dispuesto a recibirnos cuando volvemos con sinceridad. No importa cuán lejos hayamos llegado; su amor y misericordia son mayores que nuestros errores.

Este pasaje nos invita a examinar nuestro corazón y reconocer nuestras fallas. La verdadera conversión implica un cambio profundo, un volvernos completamente hacia Dios en arrepentimiento y fe. Cuando lo hacemos, encontramos perdón, restauración y paz.

Oración: Dios, te agradecemos porque siempre estás dispuesto a recibirnos cuando volvemos a ti con humildad y arrepentimiento. Ayúdanos a reconocer nuestras faltas y a buscarte con todo nuestro corazón. Renueva nuestra alma y fortalece nuestra fe para seguir tus caminos. Gracias por tu infinita misericordia y amor incondicional. En el nombre de Jesús oramos. Amén.
