A DIFFERENT YEAST

Luke 12:1-7

…Jesus began to speak first to his disciples. “Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees– I mean the mismatch between their hearts and lives.”

The signs and messages of the teacher are vital for our life. Through this text we warned about the hypocrisy or human pretense about feelings or qualities contrary to those that are truly experienced by others in order to hide real feelings or intentions. Jesus compares the hypocrisy of the Pharisees with yeast, a fungus that, when mixed into the flour, changes to sugars in a gas that takes up the air which is in the dough and makes it rise.

The Pharisees utilized hypocrisy to appear better before others, to obtain favors. We do not need hypocrisy any more, we do not need to pretend that which we do not feel or who we are not. Instead we need to be authentic and genuine; to be a different kind of yeast, because as children of God every one of us has a unique and extraordinary value before our Father.

Prayer: Help us Father to be the true fermentation that helps your Kingdom of love and peace grow in our midst. Amen.

UNA LEVADURA DIFERENTE

Lucas 12:1-7

… Jesús comenzó a decir primeramente a sus discípulos: Guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos, que es la hipocresía.

Las enseñanzas y mensajes del maestro son vitales para nuestra vida. A través del texto se nos alerta sobre la hipocresía o el fingimiento humano sobre sentimientos o cualidades contrarias a los que verdaderamente se experimentan por otras personas, para esconder intenciones o sentimientos reales. Jesús compara la hipocresía de los fariseos con la levadura, un hongo que al ser mezclado en la harina convierte los azúcares en un gas que ocupa el aire presente en la masa de harina y hace que esta crezca.

Los fariseos utilizaban la hipocresía para crecer ante los demás, para obtener favores. Más no necesitamos de la hipocresía, no necesitamos fingir aquello que no sentimos o no somos, más bien necesitamos ser auténticos, genuinas, ser una levadura diferente, porque como hijos e hijas de Dios cada uno tiene un valor único y extraordinario ante nuestro Padre.

Oración: Ayúdanos Padre a ser fermento verdadero que ayude a que tu Reino de amor y paz crezca en medio nuestro. Amén
