LET US REMEMBER

2 Timothy 4:9-17

“But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength…”

2 Timothy 4:17a (CEB)

When we feel disappointed and abandoned, our strength dies and we come to God looking for strength to overcome the situations which place us in these conditions. Even more, at times we hope for God’s answer to be like a magic ray that impacts us and gives us supernatural strength.

One of the biggest challenges that the followers of Jesus found at the beginning of Christianity, before the threat of losing one’s life or living permanently in the dungeons, was the announcement of the Gospel. They needed all the strength possible. Before Paul was a prisoner in Rome, he was able to feel the presence and power of God working for his freedom. According to the text he was found in jail for the second time when he remembered the first time he had suffered in prison. This remembering fills him with strength to face his current condition. When we face situations where our strengths are not enough, let us remember other difficult times where God with God’s power helped us to overcome the situation. Remembering God’s action in our lives will allow us to feel strengthened in order to continue on the path and overcome whatever challenge that may present itself.

Prayer: Lord, allow your strength and power to always touch our lives and help us. Amen.

HAGAMOS MEMORIA

2 Timoteo 4:9-17

“Pero el Señor estuvo conmigo y me fortaleció…”

Cuando nos sentimos defraudadas, abandonados, nuestras fuerzas desfallecen y acudimos a Dios buscando fortaleza para superar las situaciones que nos colocan en esas condiciones. Más, a veces esperamos que su respuesta sea como rayo mágico que nos impacta y nos otorga una fuerza sobrenatural.

Uno de los mayores desafíos que encontraron los seguidores de Jesús en el inicio del cristianismo, ante la amenaza de perder la vida o permanecer en las mazmorras, fue el anuncio del Evangelio. Necesitaban de toda la fortaleza posible. Antes Pablo fue preso en Roma, más pudo sentir la presencia y poder de Dios obrando para su liberación. Según el texto se encuentra en la cárcel por segunda vez donde hace memoria de la primera ocasión, cuando sufrió prisión. Este rememorar le llena de fortaleza para enfrentar su condición. Cuando afrontemos situaciones donde nuestras fuerzas no alcanzan, hagamos memoria de otros momentos difíciles donde Dios con su poder nos ayudó a superar la situación. Hacer memoria de la acción de Dios en nuestras vidas nos permitirá sentirnos fortalecidos para continuar el camino y superar cualquier desafío que pueda presentarse

Oración: Señor permite que tu fuerza y tu poder toque siempre nuestras vidas y nos ayude. Amén
