Luke 12:13-21

What will I do? I have no place to store my harvest!

Your time, your gifts, all that you have.

Jesus responds with wisdom, warning about greed and telling the parable of the rich man who accumulated many things for himself, but died before he could enjoy them.

Today it might be rare to think about it, but yes, there are people who work tirelessly, dedicating all of their free time to accumulating things, money and possessions, thinking that in this way they will find security and happiness. Buy a big house, a car, save money for when you are old.

Of course, work is necessary and good. There are those today who have three jobs because they need them to survive, and material support for a family is important. Here is the difference: time dedicated for needed sustenance, and time that we use to accumulate and to have more. And time for the family? When will we have time to help and share with our neighbor?

There are also decisions that we make which paralyze us in life, that leave us breathless and we can also ask ourselves, for what?

May God free our hearts from greed and selfishness and inspire us to love and to do.

Prayer: Beloved God, you know our situations and daily challenges. We want our lives to be transformed by your love. Amen.

¿Qué voy a hacer? No tengo dónde almacenar mi cosecha

Tu tiempo, tus dones, lo que tienes

Jesús responde con sabiduría, advirtiendo sobre la avaricia y contando la parábola del rico que acumuló grandes bienes para sí mismo, pero murió antes de disfrutar de ellos.

Hoy puede resultar raro pensarlo, pero sí, hay quienes trabajan incansablemente, dedicando todas sus horas libres a acumular bienes, dinero y posesiones, pensando que así encontrarán seguridad y felicidad. Compra una casa grande, un auto, guardar dinero para su vejez.

Claro, trabajar es necesario y bueno, hay quienes hoy tienen tres empleos, porque lo necesitan para su sustento, y el de su familia lo material es importante. Ahí está la diferencia, el tiempo dedicado para el sustento necesario, y el que usamos para acumular, para tener de más. ¿y tiempo a la familia? ¿cuándo ayudamos y compartimos con el prójimo?

Hay decisiones que tomamos que también nos paralizan en vida, que nos dejan sin aire, y nos podemos también preguntar ¿para qué?

Que Dios libre nuestro corazón de la avaricia y el egoísmo, y nos inspire a amar y hacer.

Oración: Amado Dios, conoces nuestras situaciones y desafíos cotidianos. Queremos que nuestras vidas sean transformadas por tu amor. Amen.
