How strong is our faith?

Luke 17:5-6

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

Much of the time we have no idea what it means to have faith. For many people, faith is a refuge, and for others it is strength and resistance. Faith is all that and more. Having faith is not hoping for a magic act every time we want something; faith is a constant response to God’s presence in our lives. It is abandoning ourselves in God but not abandoning our responsibility. It is having confidence in God’s company and even more in the gifts that God gives us with which to work. Faith doesn’t have to be big, it has to be deep; it doesn’t need to be shouted, it needs to be acted upon. Faith grows from within, when we are sure, when we find meaning in everything we do, in everything that faith moves us to do.

In these times in which we are living, faith prepares us to confront difficulties, but also makes us search for alternatives, find the path, share solutions and discover ways to alleviate sadness,  frustrations, the shortcomings, injustices to which we are subjected.

Let’s augment our faith, and that will augment our hope. Let us listen to God, and we will be able to see the light in the midst of darkness, the oasis in the middle of the desert.

Prayer: May our faith strengthen us and lead us toward goodness. Amen.

¿Cuán grande es nuestra fe?

Lucas 17, 5-6

Entonces los apóstoles dijeron al Señor: —¡Aumenta nuestra fe!

Muchas veces no tenemos dimensión de lo que significa tener fe. Para muchas personas, la fe es refugio, para otras es fuerza y resistencia. Y es que la fe es todo eso y más.  Tener fe, no es esperar un acto de magia, cada vez que deseemos algo, la fe es una respuesta constante a la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas. Es abandonarnos en Dios, pero no abandonar nuestra responsabilidad. Es confianza en la compañía de Dios, y también en los dones que nos da para obrar. La fe no necesita ser grande, necesita ser profunda, no necesita ser gritada, necesita ser actuada. La fe se aumenta desde adentro, cuando tenemos certezas, cuando encontramos sentidos de vida en todo lo que hacemos, en todo lo que la fe nos mueve a hacer,

En estos tiempos que vivimos, la fe nos prepara para enfrentar las dificultades, pero también nos debe hacer buscar alternativas, encontrar camino, compartir soluciones y descubrir vías para aliviar las tristezas, las frustraciones, las carencias, injusticias a las cuales somos sometidos.

Aumentemos nuestra fe, y eso aumentará nuestra esperanza. Escuchemos a Dios y podremos ver la luz en medio de tinieblas, le oasis en medio del desierto.

Oración: Que nuestra fe nos fortalezca y nos haga caminar hacia el bien. Amén
