Anniversary of the “Lutgarda Rodríguez” Church (Calabazar de Sagua)

Luke 10:25-37

He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

More and more often in our communities there are people who ask for money, food, clothes, or whatever other thing will help them survive. It is a reality that overwhelms us and hurts us, but to which we must not be indifferent. Most of these people are rejected, repudiated, and occasionally mistreated by unfeeling and cruel people.

It is up to all people of good will to work like the Good Samaritan, abandoning prejudices, dogmas, moralizations and extending our hand, giving what we can and, above all, giving comfort and counsel to these people. Taking action beyond occasional support, like the Good Samaritan, taking care, healing wounds, and engaging others with compassion and mercy.

By the side of the road are many people beaten by life, by circumstances, by injustice and the lack of management by those who should guarantee living conditions, so we must multiply the number of sensitive, committed “Samaritans,” full of kindness and love, to at least alleviate the suffering of these people.

Prayer: God, give me enough kindness, humility, and compassion to reach out to those who need us. Amen.

Aniversario de la Iglesia “Lutgarda Rodríguez” (Calabazar de Sagua)

Lucas 10,25-37

Como respuesta el hombre citó: —“Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con todo tu ser, con todas tus fuerzas y con toda tu mente”, y “Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”

Cada vez son más frecuentes en nuestras comunidades, las personas que piden dinero, comida, ropa, o cualquier otro elemento que le permita sobrevivir. Es una realidad, que nos sobrepasa y nos duele, pero que no nos puede ser indiferente. La mayoría de estas personas son rechazadas, repudiadas y en ocasiones maltratadas por gente insensible y cruel.

Nos corresponde a toda la gente de buena voluntad, obrar como el buen samaritano, dejar prejuicios, dogmas, moralismos y extender la mano, dar lo que podamos y sobre todo llevar consuelo y compañía a estas personas. Llevar la acción más allá del apoyo puntual, como el buen samaritano, preocuparnos, sanar heridas y comprometer a otras y otros desde la compasión y la misericordia.

Al borde del camino, hay muchas personas golpeadas por la vida, por las circunstancias, por las injusticias y la falta de gestión de quienes deben garantizar condiciones de vida, así que debemos multiplicar a “samaritanas y samaritanas” sensibles, comprometidos, llenos de bondad y amor para al menos, aliviar los sufrimientos de estas personas.

Oración: Buen Dios, dame bondad, humildad y compasión suficientes para llegar a quienes nos necesitan. Amen
