LET US BE SIGNS OF FAITH

Luke 11: 29-32

This is an evil generation. It asks for a miraculous sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.

Luke 11:29b

In times of uncertainty, we seek proof; we want God to speak to us through clear signs or miracles. But Jesus tells us: the sign is already here. Just as Jonah was a sign for Nineveh, Jesus is a sign for us.

We are not to look for Jesus in spectacular or in grand narratives, but rather in everyday life, in the paths which cross with those who need an expression of love from the depths of their hearts, in good relationships, in the faith that is shared and that always gives us the strength to move forward.

Let us look beyond miracles and external signs; let us not be superficial or simplistic.  We’re called to be signs of faith and love in concrete and compassionate actions; to open our hearts to the wisdom and presence of God.

Prayer: Lord, you are the perfect sign in our lives. Help us to recognize you in the simple things, in the faces of those who need you most. And to commit ourselves to your truth. Amen.

SEAMOS SIGNOS DE FE

Lucas 11: 29-32

Ésta es una generación malvada. Pide una señal milagrosa, pero no se le dará más señal que la de Jonás.

Lucas 11: 29b

En tiempo de incertidumbres buscamos pruebas, queremos que Dios nos hable a través de señales o milagros certeros. Pero Jesús nos dice: el signo ya está aquí. Así como Jonás fue signo para Nínive, Jesús lo es para nosotros.

No es buscar a Jesús en lo espectacular ni en las grandes narrativas, sino más bien, en lo cotidiano, en el camino que se entrecruza con quienes necesitan una expresión de amor desde lo más profundo, en las buenas relaciones, en la fe que se comparte y que siempre da fuerza para seguir adelante.

Miremos más allá de los milagros  y señales externas, no seamos superficiales o simples.  Estamos llamados a ser signos de fe y de amor en acciones concretas y compasivas; abrir el corazón a la sabiduría y a la presencia de Dios.

Oración: Señor, tú eres el signo perfecto de nuestras vidas. Ayúdanos a reconocerte en lo sencillo, en el rostro de quienes más necesitan de ti. Y a comprometernos con tu verdad. Amén.
