Who Is He?

John 1:19-28

“I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’”

John 1:23 (NRSV)

John is presented as the voice crying out in the wilderness, calling the people to prepare themselves for the coming of the Messiah. He himself acknowledges that he is not Christ, Elijah, or the Prophet; his role is to point to the One who comes after him, who is much more powerful.

This passage invites us to reflect on our own mission and purpose. The humility of John shows us that our role is not to seek recognition, but to be faithful in proclaiming Christ.

Take a moment to reflect if you are living in a manner that prepares the way for Jesus in your life and in the life of others. Ask yourself if you are ready to announce Christ with humility and sincerity.

Pray to have the strength and clarity to point to Jesus in every situation. May you live this day with the certainty that you too have an important role in proclaiming Christ in your home, at your workplace, wherever you may be.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your coming into this world and for sending us as your witnesses. Help us to announce your love and your truth with humility. Amen.

QUIÉN ES ÉL?

JUAN 1:19-28

Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor.

Juan 1:23

Juan se presenta como la voz que clama en medio del desierto, llamando a la gente a prepararse para la llegada del Mesías. Él mismo reconoce que no es Cristo ni Elías ni el Profeta; su papel es señalar a Aquel que viene detrás de él, mucho más poderoso.

Este pasaje nos invita a reflexionar sobre nuestra propia misión y propósito. La humildad de Juan nos muestra que nuestro papel no es buscar reconocimiento, sino ser fieles en anunciar a Cristo.

Tómate un momento para reflexionar si estás viviendo de manera que prepare el camino para Jesús en tu vida y en la vida de otros.  Pregúntate si estás dispuesto/a a ser una voz que anuncia a Cristo con humildad y sinceridad. Ora para tener la valentía y claridad para señalar a Jesús en cada situación. Que este día puedas vivir con la certeza de que tú también tienes un papel importante en anunciar a Cristo en tu hogar, en tu trabajo, en donde quieras que estés.

Oración: Señor Jesús, gracias por tu venida al mundo y por enviarnos como tus testigos. Ayúdanos a ser una voz que anuncia tu amor y tu verdad con humildad. Amén.
