GOD ALWAYS LISTENS

Psalm 20:2-7

“May he give you the desire of your heart …”

Psalm 20 is a prayer to God, offered by human beings before a battle, before facing danger. No one is free from facing similar situations, experiences which cause anguish, pain, and fear. Even the most powerful, the wisest, and the most optimistic can experience similar situations. We, the followers of Jesus, are also not immune to these experiences, but we have a tool that strengthens and sustains us in the midst of the most challenging situations: prayer to God.

This psalm offers us a special gift, the certainty that God always listens. At the center of this psalm is God Himself, who answers all human prayers and offers us his help. There is no problem or situation that prevents God from hearing us and responding to us. But His response is in accordance with what we hold in our hearts. That’s why it is important that we look into our hearts before we pray, before we cry out to God. Whenever we do cry out to God, let us do so from a place of deep faith, with love, and accepting his response to our pleas.

Prayer: Father, hear my cry at all times and in all places. Help me to trust and wait for your timely and wise response. Amen.

DIOS SIEMPRE ESCUCHA

Salmo 20:2-7

“Te dé conforme al deseo de tu corazón…”

Salmo 20:4a

El salmo veinte constituye una oración a Dios, levantada por seres humanos antes de una batalla, antes de enfrentarse al peligro. Ninguna persona está libre de enfrentar situaciones similares, experiencias que le generen angustia, dolor, temor.  Hasta la más poderosa, la más sabia, la más optimista puede vivir situaciones similares. Nosotros los seguidores y seguidoras de Jesús tampoco estamos ajenos a vivir estas experiencias, más sin embargo tenemos una herramienta que nos fortalece y nos sostiene en medio de las situaciones más desafiantes: la oración a Dios.

Este salmo nos ofrece un regalo especial, la certeza de que Dios siempre escucha. El centro de este salmo es Dios mismo; quien responde a todas las oraciones humanas y nos brinda su ayuda. No existe problema o situación que impida que Dios nos escuche y nos responda. Más su respuesta es conforme a lo que guardamos en nuestros corazones. Por ello es importante que miremos en nuestro corazón antes de orar, antes de clamar a Dios. Siempre que clamemos a Dios lo hagamos desde una profunda fe, con amor y aceptando su respuesta ante nuestras súplicas.

Oración: Padre escucha mi clamor en todo tiempo lugar, ayúdame a confiar y esperar tu respuesta oportuna y sabia. Amén.
