New Year

LIVING WITH JOY AND GRATITUDE

Luke 2:16-21

The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Luke 2:20 (NRSV)

When the shepherds met Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus in the manger, their reaction was one of amazement and worship. The experience led them to glorify and praise God for what they had seen and heard. This passage reminds us that the coming of Jesus is reason for true and deep joy. Just the same as the shepherds we are called to respond with gratitude and worship before the presence of Jesus in our lives.

In the same way, as we welcome the dawn of a new year, we are called to fill ourselves with the joy of Christmas and keep it alive in worship throughout the rest of the year. The arrival of this 2026 is the certainty that God has allowed us to survive a difficult year which has ended and is giving us a new year to continue living in his paths with the hope and peace of his Son Jesus Christ in our hearts.

 

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the joy that we feel in remembering his birth. May our lives be a reflection of your love and mercy. Glory be yours always. Amen.

VIVIR CON ALEGRÍA Y GRATITUD

LUCAS 2:16-21

 

Los pastores regresaron glorificando y alabando a Dios por todo lo que habían visto y oído, tal como se les había dicho.

Lucas 2:20 

Cuando los pastores encontraron a María, José y al niño Jesús en el pesebre, su reacción fue de asombro y adoración. La experiencia los llevó a glorificar y alabar a Dios por lo que habían visto y oído. Este pasaje nos recuerda que la llegada de Jesús es motivo de alegría verdadera y profunda. Al igual que los pastores, estamos llamados a responder con gratitud y adoración ante la presencia de Jesús en nuestras vidas.

Así también, ante el nacimiento de un nuevo año que comienza, estamos llamados a llenarnos de la alegría de la Navidad y mantenerla viva y en adoración por el resto del año. La llegada de este 2026 es una certeza de que Dios nos ha permitido sobrevivir el difícil año que ha terminado y nos está regalando un nuevo año para continuar viviendo en sus caminos con la esperanza y la paz de su Hijo Jesucristo en nuestros corazones. 

Oración: Señor, gracias por la alegría que sentimos al recordar su nacimiento. Que nuestras vidas sean un reflejo de tu amor y misericordia. Gloria a ti por siempre. Amén.
