WE ARE A FAMILY IN GOD

Mark 3:31-35

Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.

From singer, Rosario Flores “Cuando tienes una familia que te deja que te expreses como eres, es lo mejor que te puede dar la vida.” In English, “when you have a family that lets you express yourself as you are, it’s the best thing life can give you”.

The first verse of this text provides an interesting detail: they were outside and wanted to talk to him. However, contrary to what we might think, Jesus does not hate his family; he invites his relatives to share his choice of life. The Master proposed a new way of living for family relationships. The true family respects and shares the life projects of each of its members. It accompanies, encourages and contributes to the personal fulfillment and growth of those who are its members, challenging all risk.

Remaining detached from the concerns, challenges, and crises of family members distances us from the sense of family proposed by Jesus. Respecting our relatives’ life choices, even if we do not understand or fully agree with them, is essential so that no one feels excluded from the family. It is important for everyone to have the support of those who share our lives.

Prayer: Lord, we pray for family unity, for respect and understanding. Amen.

SOMOS UNA FAMILIA EN DIOS.

Marcos 3:31-35

Porque todo aquel que hace la voluntad de Dios, ese es mi hermano, y mi hermana, y mi madre.

El primer versículo aporta un dato de interés estaban afuera y le querían hablar. Sin embargo, contrario a lo que podemos pensar. Jesús no desprecia a su familia invita a sus familiares a compartir su opción de vida. El Maestro propone una nueva manera de vivir para las relaciones familiares: la verdadera familia respeta y comparte los proyectos de vida de cada uno de sus miembros. Acompaña, estimula y contribuye a la realización y crecimiento personal de quienes lo integran, desafiando todo riesgo.

Estar al margen de las preocupaciones retos y crisis de los miembros del grupo familiar aleja el sentido de familia propuesto por Jesús. Respetar las opciones de vida de nuestros familiares aun sin comprender o estar plenamente de acuerdo con estas, es indispensable para que nadie se sienta fuera del espacio familiar. Para todos y todas es importante contar con el apoyo de quienes comparten nuestra vida.

Oración: Señor te pedimos por la unidad familiar por su respeto y comprensión. Amén.
