 LET US LIVE OUR FAITH WITH JOY AND AUTHENTICITY

Matthew 9:14-15

Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, ‘Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?’

In the passage, John the Baptist's disciples approach Jesus with a question about fasting. Here, Jesus draws a distinction between traditional religious practices and the new reality He brings. He invites us to reflect on the nature of our relationship with God. Fasting, which symbolizes the search for closeness and penance, has its place, but Jesus emphasizes that His presence transforms the meaning of these practices. He is the “bridegroom,” and his arrival brings joy and celebration.

This challenges us to reconsider our own spiritual practices: are they mere routines, or do they reflect a living, dynamic relationship with Christ? We must be willing to renew ourselves and open ourselves to the new things which God is doing in our lives. Ultimately, this passage calls us to live our faith with joy and authenticity, recognizing that true transformation occurs in the presence of the Lord.

Prayer: Dear God, allow our faith to grow stronger each day, and may our practices of faith be those of a true relationship with you. Amen.

 VIVAMOS LA FE CON GOZO Y AUTENTICIDAD

Mateo 9:14-15

Los discípulos de Juan se le acercaron entonces, y le preguntaron:  ¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos muchas veces y tus discípulos no?

En el pasaje, los discípulos de Juan el Bautista se acercan a Jesús con una pregunta sobre el ayuno. Aquí, Jesús establece una distinción entre las prácticas religiosas tradicionales y la nueva realidad que Él trae consigo. Invita a reflexionar sobre la naturaleza de nuestra relación con Dios. El ayuno, que simboliza la búsqueda de cercanía y la penitencia, tiene su lugar, pero Jesús enfatiza que su presencia transforma el significado de esas prácticas. Él es el "esposo", y su llegada trae alegría y celebración.

Esto nos desafía a reconsiderar nuestras propias prácticas espirituales: ¿son meras rutinas o reflejan una relación viva y dinámica con Cristo?Debemos estar dispuestos a renovarnos y a abrirnos a lo nuevo que Dios está haciendo en nuestras vidas. En última instancia, este pasaje nos llama a vivir nuestra fe con gozo y autenticidad, reconociendo que la verdadera transformación ocurre en la presencia del Señor.

Oración: Amado Dios, permite que nuestra fe se fortalezca cada día más, y que nuestras prácticas de fe sean las de una verdadera relación contigo. Amén.
